about the proof of concept video

we’ve tried our best to create a feel for what the collage aesthetic of kys might look like.

that being said, there are a few key elements missing:

1)    the shannon interview – something that will be staged and shot on red

2)    digital manipulation – while there is some, we intend to utilize this process of stretching and replacing faces to provide more jump-scares and horror throughout

3)    new york city editor – throughout the film we will be cutting to an unnamed editor in new york who is receiving the footage in the mail and working on it at his apartment.

4)    digital crime re-enactments – as we learn more about kayleigh’s past, we will illustrate some of her criminal history through the traditional “crime re-enactment” videos you sometimes see on news broadcasts

5)    timeline jumping – to create the “psychological effect” of timeline jumping, we will be re-filming certain sequences during both the summer and winter. intercutting, digitally, between the two.

6)    stalker footage – throughout the narrative, we will sometimes see kayleigh from the perspective of a person’s cellphone, filming her from a public vantage point. this footage will sometimes contradict what kayleigh’s phone is filming.
