GOOD HOUSE is made up of Kelly Kay Hurcomb & James Watts, an independent filmmaking duo based in Tiohtià:ke/MontrÉal, producing films within the English-language minority community of Quebec.

Graduating from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema in 2013 with a BFA in Film Production, James Watts has directed and edited a slew of short comedy films, commercials, music videos and promotional spots featuring artists such as Hannibal Buress, Maria Bamford and Michel Gondry.

He has directed campaigns in association with Just For Laughs, Cadbury, Stetson Caliber, Ford, Goli, Tourisme Montréal and many more.

Kelly Kay Hurcomb graduated from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema in 2012 with a BFA in Film Studies and has worked in the entertainment industry as a writer, producer and performer ever since.

She has produced and appeared in campaigns for Just For Laughs, Crocs, Cadbury, BIXI and more.

For 5 years, she served as the head writer/creative lead for one of the world’s top adult entertainment brands and has been nominated for multiple awards in that field.

In 2021, they completed their first feature film, Death Trip, distributed by Gravitas Ventures (North America) & Hewes Pictures (International).

Their latest short film, Messy Legend, WAS selected for inclusion in the 2023 edition of the Fantasia International Film Festival and won the INIS CREATIVITY PRIZE.

They are currently developing their follow-up feature, WORM.

As artists, their collaborative interests are invested in critiquing over-arching systems of power— corporations, political structures, cultures at large, and ultimately capitalism, and how these overarching structures impact lived experiences, and finally in turn, how such experiences interact with gender, class, and mental health.
